About HomeAfford
HomeAfford exists to make US home-buying math transparent and free of sales pressure. Most mortgage and affordability tools online are built to capture leads for lenders. HomeAfford is built to answer one honest question: what can you actually afford? Every calculator runs entirely in your browser, with no sign-ups and no credit pulls, and every formula is documented openly on our Methodology page.
Who's behind HomeAfford

Tiago Jordan
FounderTiago Jordan is an international trade entrepreneur who works with US commodities markets, giving him hands-on experience with American economics, currency, and financial systems. He built HomeAfford to make US home-buying math transparent and free of sales pressure. The calculators here are based on published figures from the IRS, VA, Freddie Mac, and CFPB, with every formula documented on the Methodology page. Tiago is married and a father of two.
How HomeAfford makes money
HomeAfford is free to use. We keep the tools honest by being clear about how the site is funded: through advertising and, where genuinely useful, contextual partnerships with financial providers. We never sell your data, and the calculators never change their results based on any partnership. Recommendations, when they appear, come only after the tool has given you a real answer.
Our sources
The numbers behind our calculators come from official, published US sources — including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Freddie Mac, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Each tool's formulas and assumptions are laid out in full on our Methodology page, so you can check the math yourself.
