Affiliate Disclosure

How HomeAfford is funded — and the firewall between monetization and our math.

Last updated: June 2026.

How we make money

HomeAfford is supported by display advertising (currently Google AdSense) and, in some places, by affiliate links to lenders, mortgage marketplaces, insurance carriers, or other home-buying partners. If you click an affiliate link and complete an action on the partner's site, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

What an affiliate link does not change

  • It does not change a calculator's defaults, formulas, or output. Our math is the same whether or not a partner pays us.
  • It does not change which result we show first. We don't reorder a results table to favor a paying partner.
  • It does not give the partner access to your inputs. Calculations run in your browser; partners only see what you choose to share when you click through and fill out their form.

Where affiliate links appear

We only place affiliate links alongside relevant tools — for example, a lender link near the mortgage or refinance calculator, or a homeowners insurance link near closing-cost outputs. When a link is an affiliate link, it is clearly labeled as a partner / sponsored link in the surrounding UI.

We're independent

HomeAfford is not a lender, mortgage broker, or lead-generation business. We do not sell your personal data and we do not sell mortgage leads. Email collected through our newsletter signup is used only to send what you subscribed to.
